Liability and Sanctions

Liability

Anyone who, in good faith freezes funds, blocks economic resources, or declines to provide financial services to individuals or entities subject to sanctions—even if this causes loss or leads to claims—is fully protected from criminal, civil, or administrative liability. This protection applies as long as the action is taken to comply with freezing measures and the prohibition against making assets available to those involved in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Sanctions

Failure to comply with these obligations may result in supervisory action, administrative penalties, suspension of business activities, or other enforcement measures, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
